Getting Started

What is Magic Minis in simple terms?

Magic Minis are reusable, soft fabric colouring mats. Children colour them with pens, you rinse them with cold water, they dry in around 5–10 minutes, and they are ready to use again. One mat can replace hundreds of disposable paper colouring books.

What are Magic Minis?

Magic Minis are compact, portable versions of our reusable colouring mats. They are designed for everyday calm and creativity, whether at home or on the go.
They are ideal for:
• Cars and travel
• Cafés and restaurants
• Flights and waiting rooms
• Grandparents’ houses
• Hotels and holidays

Who are Magic Minis suitable for?

Magic Minis are suitable for a wide range of ages and settings, including:
• Children aged approximately 3–12
• Teenagers who enjoy doodling and creative play
• Parents seeking calm, screen-free activities
• Teachers, nurseries and SEN professionals
• Restaurants, cafés, hairdressers and salons
• Doctors, dentists and therapy clinics
• Hotels, holiday homes and play cafés
• Grandparents, child-minders and child-friendly businesses
If children need calm, creative engagement, Magic Minis fit naturally.

Does my order include everything I need to start?

Yes. Every order includes a FREE Starter Pack (worth $89.99), which contains washable pens and simple guides so you can start using Magic Minis straight away.

Is Magic Minis easy to use if I’m not creative?

Yes. There is nothing complicated to learn.
Simply lay the mat flat, give children some pens and let them colour. When they finish, rinse with cold water, dab lightly with soft kitchen roll or leave to air-dry and reuse. The mat does the work for you.

Is Magic Minis messy?

No. There is no paint, glue, glitter or craft clean-up.
The ink stays on the mat and rinses away with cold water. Compared with traditional crafts, Magic Minis are quick to tidy and easy to manage.

Will this keep my child occupied in restaurants, waiting rooms or on flights?

ABSOLUTELY!
Many children naturally settle into focused, quiet play for 15–30 minutes or longer once Magic Minis and pens are in front of them. This makes them especially useful for travel, appointments and public spaces where calm activity matters.

Safety, Materials, Quality & Origin

Is Magic Minis safe for children?

Yes. Magic Minis are made from a specialist recycled polyester fabric called Magic Matte™ and are independently laboratory tested.
They are certified to contain:
• 0% formaldehyde
• 0% carcinogenic chemicals
• 0% VOC emissions
• 0% azo dyes
• 0% phthalates
• 0% toxic binders or solvents
They are suitable for daily, long-term use and safe for sensitive skin.

Does Magic Minis contain PVC or plasticisers?

No. Magic Minis contain no PVC, no plasticisers and no harsh solvent coatings. They are a fabric-based alternative to cheap plastic wipe-clean mats.

Does Magic Minis smell like plastic?

No. Magic Minis have no strong plastic odour. They are made from a soft, premium fabric and do not feel or smell like coated or laminated plastic mats.

Which safety standards does Magic Minis comply with?

Magic Minis materials are independently tested under recognised European safety frameworks, including the EU General Product Safety Directive (2001/95/EC).
Testing confirms the absence of harmful substances such as formaldehyde, carcinogens and hazardous chemical residues. This verifies that Magic Minis meet recognised European consumer safety requirements for everyday use.

Is Magic Minis food-safe? Can it be used as a place mat?

For practical home use, many customers use Magic Minis as a placemat for light, non-hot food such as snacks or sandwiches.
We do not recommend placing hot plates, hot cups or heated food directly on the mat, as high temperatures may damage the surface over time.

Is Magic Minis safe if a child mouths or chews things?

Magic Minis are not recommended for children under 3 unless closely supervised.
The materials are safe for everyday handling, but chewing or mouthing pens, caps or the mat itself is not advised. Always supervise young children during colouring activities.

Is Magic Minis latex-free and suitable for children with allergies?

Yes. Magic Minis contain no latex and no natural rubber, making them suitable for children with latex sensitivities.
The fabric and pens are laboratory tested and allergy-friendly. As with all products, parents of children with severe sensitivities may wish to patch-test first.

Is Magic Minis fire-resistant?

No. Magic Minis are not sold as fire-resistant products and have not been tested to fire-retardant standards.
They should be kept away from open flames, heaters and hot surfaces and used only as colouring or activity mats.

Are Magic Minis good quality? How thick and durable are they?

Yes. Magic Minis are made from a durable, recycled Magic Matte™ fabric designed for thousands of uses.
They are soft and flexible yet robust enough for daily use in homes, classrooms, cafés, waiting rooms and SEN settings. They are approximately 2 mm thick and built for long-term performance.

Are your designs exclusive?

Yes. The Magic Matte™ fabric is exclusive to Infinite Colour Fabrics™, and all Magic Minis designs are created in-house by our own design team.
This combination of material, artwork and guarantees is not sold under any other brand.

Where is your company based?

We are a British company based in London, responsible for product design, brand development and customer support.
Being UK-based means clear communication, reliable service standards and a strong customer-first approach, while operating globally.
Our manufacturing is handled separately to ensure the best possible quality and value, which is explained below.

Why this section is important

Polyester microfibre behaves differently from paper. These FAQs exist to set clear, realistic expectations, reduce frustration, and ensure families get the best possible experience with Magic Minis.

How It Works & Pens

How does the reusable “washable” mode work?

Children colour using washable felt-tip pens. When they finish:
1. Rinse the mat gently under cold water only
2. Dab lightly with soft kitchen roll or leave to air-dry
3. For instant reuse, a brief pass with a hairdryer will dry it in seconds
Once dry, the surface is fully reset and ready to use again.
This process can be repeated thousands of times without affecting performance.

What is “permanent artwork mode”?

Permanent artwork mode allows you to use permanent markers on Magic Minis to create designs that are intended to stay.
This is ideal for:
• Special drawings that feel too important to wash away
• Names, early writing attempts and milestones
• Keepsakes for bedrooms, grandparents or memory displays
Once permanent ink is applied, it will not wash off. This turns Magic Minis into a long-lasting keepsake surface when permanence is the goal.

Which pens should I use with Magic Minis?

We recommend:
Washable felt-tip markers for everyday reusable colouring
Permanent markers only when you want artwork to stay permanently
Every order includes a FREE Starter Pack with 12 washable pens tested specifically for Magic Minis.

Do I have to use your pens, or can I use other brands?

You do not have to use our pens.
Most good-quality washable and permanent markers work well on Magic Minis. Our own pens are tested for colour performance, easy rinsing and long-term use, which allows us to stand behind the product with confidence.
If you use another brand, we recommend testing it on a small corner first.
If you are ever unsure, contact us and we will gladly advise.

Can I use crayons, pencils, chalk or paint?

Magic Minis are engineered for felt-tip markers.
For washable use, we do not recommend:
• Wax crayons
• Coloured pencils
• Chalk or chalk pens
• Poster paint, acrylics or standard craft paints
These materials do not rinse cleanly and may leave residue.
For permanent artwork only, mixed media or paints may be used intentionally, but they will not wash away and should be treated as permanent.
If you wish to experiment with alternative tools, always test a small corner first.

Will the pens stain my child’s skin or clothes?

No. The washable pens use non-toxic, dermatologically tested ink made with food- and cosmetic-grade dyes.
• On skin: washes off easily with warm water and mild soap
• On clothing: designed to wash out in a normal machine cycle
Darker colours may need an extra rinse, which is normal with richly pigmented inks.

Will ink soak through and mark the table underneath?

In normal use, no. Magic Minis are engineered to keep ink on the surface.
Only in rare cases, such as very heavy pressure in the same dark area, could a faint transfer occur. Permanent markers vary by brand, so testing first is advised.
As a general precaution, using the mat on a wipeable surface is sensible during longer colouring sessions.

Do colours smudge while my child is drawing?

Generally, no. Colours stay where they are applied, especially with recommended pens.
Minor smudging can occur depending on:
• Pressure
• Amount of ink
• Warm or damp hands
Ink settles quickly and any light smudging still rinses away cleanly. This is normal and does not affect reuse.

Can the pens be used on other surfaces?

The pens are designed for Magic Minis, but they are water-based and washable.
If accidentally used on tables, walls or doors, the ink usually wipes away easily with cold water. If left longer, mild soap and warm water will remove it.

Do you sell replacement or extra pens?

Yes. Replacement and additional pen sets are available directly from our website.

How long do the pens take to dry on Magic Minis fabric?

Magic Minis are made from a synthetic polyester microfibre fabric, which does not absorb ink in the same way as paper.
On this type of surface:
• Colours usually become touch-dry within 1–2 minutes
• For best results, allow 2–5 minutes before handling, stacking, or reusing
• Heavier colouring or darker colours may need a little longer
This behaviour is normal for washable, water-based felt-tip pens on synthetic fabric.

When is it safe to touch, fold, or reuse a Magic Minis mat?

To avoid smudging or transfer:
• Wait at least 2–5 minutes after colouring
• If the surface feels cool or slightly tacky, the ink is still drying
• Ensure the mat is fully dry before folding or stacking
Once dry, colours should not transfer during normal play.

Can colours transfer if the ink is still wet?

Yes. If the ink has not fully dried:
• Colour can transfer to hands, clothing, or nearby surfaces
• Colours may smudge if rubbed or stacked too soon
This is not a fault. It is a normal characteristic of washable ink on synthetic fabric.
Allowing proper drying time prevents this.

Does humidity or room temperature affect drying on Magic Minis?

Yes. Drying time on polyester microfibre is affected by the environment.
Drying may take longer in:
• Humid conditions
• Cold rooms
• Poorly ventilated spaces
Drying is faster in:
• Warm, dry rooms
• Well-ventilated areas
In humid or cold conditions, allow extra drying time before reuse.

What happens if ink is left on Magic Minis for a long time?

Magic Minis™ are designed to be washable and reusable.
However:
• Very dark colours left on the fabric for extended periods may require more thorough washing
• Heat or prolonged sunlight can cause ink to bind more firmly to the fibres
For easiest cleaning, we recommend washing the mat after use.

How does heavy colouring or pressing hard affect drying?

Pressing hard or layering colours:
• Deposits more ink onto the fabric surface
• Increases drying time
• Raises the risk of smudging if touched too soon
A light to medium pressure gives better control, faster drying, and easier cleaning.

What happens if different pens or brands are used together on Magic Minis?

Mixing washable felt-tip pens is generally safe.
However:
• Different inks may dry at different speeds
• Some colours may layer or blend more heavily
• Heavier inks may remain wet longer on synthetic fabric
If mixing pens, allow extra drying time before touching or folding.

Can heat affect colouring on Magic Minis? (Cars, radiators, windowsills)

Yes. Heat can significantly affect ink behaviour on our fabric.
Avoid:
• Leaving coloured mats in hot cars
• Placing on radiators or heaters
• Prolonged exposure on sunny windowsills
Heat can:
• Cause ink to set more firmly
• Make ink harder to wash out
• Increase colour transfer if moved while warm

What about cold environments or outdoor use?

In cold conditions:
• Ink dries more slowly
• Colours may appear lighter until fully dry
This is normal. Allow additional drying time before handling or cleaning.

Does direct sunlight affect Magic Minis after colouring?

Yes. Prolonged direct sunlight can:
• Speed up drying unevenly
• Increase the chance of ink setting into the fabric
• Cause colours to fade over time
We recommend colouring and storing Magic Minis™ away from direct sunlight.

How should Magic Minis and pens be stored long-term?

For best longevity:
• Ensure mats are clean and dry before storage
• Store flat or loosely rolled
• Keep pens capped tightly
• Store in a cool, dry place away from heat or sunlight
Proper storage helps maintain washability and colour performance.

Cleaning & Care

Can I clean Magic Minis with babywipes or wet wipes when travelling?

We do not recommend baby wipes or wet wipes.
Most wipes contain oils and cleaning agents that smear ink rather than lifting it, and they may affect the surface over time.
Best option when travelling:
• Use a soft tissue or cloth dampened with plain cold water
• Gently dab the area, then dab dry with a clean tissue
No alcohols. No sprays. No cleaners.
Just water. It is better for the mat, safer for children’s hands, and kinder to the environment.

Can Magic Minis Be Washed in a Washing Machine or Tumble Dryer?

Yes, as an alternative Magic Minis can be washed in a washing machine when needed.

However, we recommend a quick hand rinse with cold water as the fastest and easiest everyday cleaning method. In most cases, the colours rinse away in minutes and the Magic Mini is ready to reuse again shortly afterwards.

If you prefer to machine wash your Magic Minis, please follow these simple guidelines carefully:

✔ Recommended wash: cold water
✔ Maximum temperature: 30°C only when necessary
✔ Use a short, gentle or delicate cycle only (approximately 15–30 minutes)
✔ Do not use detergents, bleach, fabric softeners, or chemicals

After washing, simply hang flat or air dry naturally. Polyester dries quickly and is often ready to reuse again within around an hour depending on the size and environment.

For larger mats, they can also be loosely rolled and placed outside in the garden, on a balcony, or in a well-ventilated area to help them dry naturally.

Important:

✘ Do not tumble dry or heat dry
✘ Do not iron
✘ Do not dry clean
✘ Do not use high temperatures

High heat may damage the fibres and affect long-term performance.

Magic Minis are designed to be reusable again and again. The black outlines do not wash away. Only the washable felt-tip pen colouring cleans away beautifully when cared for correctly.

⚠️ Unprinted Magic Minis™ Care Notice

Home or desktop printer prints are not commercially finished and may fade if machine washed. For best results, rinse gently in cold water only. Repeated washing may affect printed outlines and colours.

Some colour is not coming off completely – what should I do?

This is uncommon, but it can happen if very dark colours (such as black, navy or deep purple) are left on the mat for a long time without rinsing before storage.
This does not damage the mat and is easily avoided.
Important care rule:
Always rinse Magic Minis with cold water before storing, especially after heavy colouring or dark colours.
If a faint shadow appears:
• Rinse or lightly mist the area again with cold water
• Gently dab with soft kitchen roll
• Do not scrub and do not use chemicals
In most cases, the remaining pigment will fade naturally with normal use.

My child used permanent marker by accident – is the mat ruined?

No. Permanent ink will not wash off, but the mat is still fully usable.
Many families choose to:
• Keep the design as a keepsake
• Display it as wall art
• Dedicate that side or section to permanent artwork
The rest of the mat can continue to be used normally.

Does Magic Minis slip on smooth tables?

No. Magic Minis stay in place during normal use.
Because the mats are lightweight, children naturally stabilise them by resting their hands or arms on the surface while colouring. This is usually more than enough to prevent movement.
For this reason, we do not recommend non-slip pads or soft underlays, as these can make the surface uneven and interfere with colouring comfort.

Will Magic Minis stain the table, floor or carpet underneath?

Under normal use with washable pens, Magic Minis are designed to keep ink on the surface.
In very rare cases, such as extremely heavy pressure in one area, a small amount of ink could transfer through. If this happens, the ink is water-based and usually removes easily with water or mild detergent.
For best results:
• Use on flat, non-porous surfaces
• Take extra care on unfinished wood or absorbent materials
As with any creative activity, a protective layer underneath valuable surfaces is a sensible precaution.

Do I need to wash Magic Minis before first use?

No. Magic Minis are ready to use straight out of the packaging.
There is no pre-washing, preparation or set-up required. Simply open, add pens and start colouring.

How should I store Magic Minis– rolled or folded?

Both are fine.
Magic Minis can be:
• Rolled and stored upright
• Folded flat in a drawer or bag
To keep them looking their best:
• Avoid sharp or heavy folds for long periods
• Light creases usually relax naturally during use
If needed, stubborn creases can be gently pressed using a warm iron on the reverse side only, with no steam and light pressure.

Is Magic Minis™ waterproof or water-resistant?

Magic Minis are made from polyester microfibre, which is not waterproof and not fully water-resistant, but it is naturally water-repellent.
What this means in practical terms:
• Polyester does not absorb water like cotton or paper
• Water tends to sit on the surface rather than soaking in
• This makes Magic Minis fast-drying and easy to clean
However, Magic Minis are not designed to withstand heavy or forceful water exposure.
✔ Gentle water application (such as light rinsing or wiping) works perfectly
✔ Light water contact helps lift washable ink pigments from the surface
✖ Pouring water, soaking, or using strong water pressure is not recommended
In simple terms:
Magic Minis repel water gently, but they are not waterproof and should be cleaned carefully and gently to maintain performance and longevity.

Are Magic Minis hygienic for repeated or shared use (home, schools, play centres)?

Yes. Magic Minis are well suited to repeated and shared use due to the hygienic properties of polyester microfibre.
Why polyester microfibre is hygienic:
Non-absorbent: does not retain moisture, reducing environments where bacteria thrive
Fast drying: dries quickly after cleaning, limiting bacterial growth
Smooth synthetic fibres: bacteria are less able to embed compared to natural fibres
Easy to clean: washable with water and mild cleaning methods
Does not require dry cleaning or chemical treatments
For best hygiene practices:
• Clean mats regularly when used by multiple children
• Allow mats to fully dry before reuse or storage
• Avoid storing damp or folded when wet
These characteristics make Magic Minis suitable for homes, classrooms, nurseries, waiting areas, and supervised play environments when used and cleaned as recommended.

Printed vs Unprinted Magic Minis & Digital Downloads

What is the difference between Printed and Unprinted Magic Minis?

Magic Minis are available in two formats, each designed for a different way of playing and learning.
Printed Magic Minis
Printed Magic Minis feature professionally designed black-and-white illustrated layouts created to support calm focus and guided engagement. These are not random pictures. Each design is purpose-led, encouraging observation, storytelling, pattern recognition and fine motor control.
They are ideal for:
• Instant, zero-preparation calm time
• Travel, restaurants and waiting rooms
• Classrooms and home learning
• Younger children or busy moments
Printed Magic Minis form part of a portable, screen-free learning system that can be used anywhere, without set-up or mess.
Unprinted Magic Minis
Unprinted Magic Minis are blank, off-white reusable mats designed for flexibility and creativity. They allow children, parents and educators to create personalised activities that evolve as a child grows.
They are commonly used for:
• Free drawing and creative expression
• Printing worksheets, learning paths and games
• Letters, numbers, shapes and handwriting practice
• SEN-friendly and therapeutic activities
• Classroom resources, flashcards and reusable workmats
Unprinted Magic Minis are especially valued in schools, SEN settings and home-learning environments where adaptability matters most.
Both versions are fully washable and endlessly reusable.

Can I print on Unprinted Magic Minis with anormal home printer?

Yes. Unprinted Magic Minis are designed to work with a standard home inkjet printer.
They are slightly larger than A4 and feed through one at a time, similar to thicker paper or card. No special settings, inks or equipment are required, and they will not damage your printer.

Do I need special ink to print on Magic Minis?

No. Standard home inkjet ink works perfectly.
Once printed, outlines remain in place while colouring washes away. Over extended use, typically many months, you may notice very slight softening of home-printed outlines if the mat is rinsed with heavy pressure. This does not affect usability and is usually barely noticeable.
Professionally printed Magic Minis use industrial inks and will not change over time. In all cases, the mat continues to function exactly as intended.

Can I print designs from the internet onto Magic Minis?

Yes. You are free to print designs from many sources, provided you have permission to use them.
Common sources include:
• Pinterest
• Teachers Pay Teachers
• Etsy
• Google Images
• Twinkl
• Canva
• Educational blogs and home school resources
• SEN and therapy platforms
• Our own website and digital downloads
As long as the design is permitted for personal, educational or licensed use, it can be printed onto Unprinted Magic Minis.

Once I print a design onto Magic Minis can I reuse it?

Yes. Printed designs are fully reusable.
The process is simple:
Colour → rinse with cold water → dry → colour again
The printed outline stays in place while the colouring washes away.

Which is better – Printed or Unprinted Magic Minis?

Neither is “better”. The right choice depends on how you plan to use them.
Choose Printed Magic Minis if you want:
• Instant calm with no preparation
• Guided colouring layouts
• A simple screen-free activity for outings or quiet time
• An easy option for younger children
Choose Unprinted Magic Minisif you want:
• Complete creative and learning freedom
• The ability to draw, design or print your own activities
• A reusable learning surface that grows with your child
• A solution suited to schools, SEN settings and therapy use
If you are unsure, contact us. We will help you choose the best option for your needs.

⚠️ Unprinted Magic Minis™ Care Notice

Home or desktop printer prints are not commercially finished and may fade if machine washed. For best results, rinse gently in cold water only. Repeated washing may affect printed outlines and colours.

Product Options & Customisation

Are Magic Minis double-sided? Can I colour on both sides?

Yes. Magic Minis are usable on both sides, offering added longevity and value.
For best results, we recommend using one side at a time. Colouring on both sides simultaneously is not advised, as ink on one side may smudge while the other is in use.
The reverse side acts as a practical backup. If one side shows wear over time, simply turn the mat over and continue using it.
In short: two usable sides, designed for durability, just not for use at the same time.

Can you create custom designs or add our logo for a business or school?

Yes.
We work with:
• Schools and nurseries
• SEN and educational organisations
• Event organisers
• Child-friendly businesses
Custom options can include:
• Bespoke illustrated designs
• Educational layouts and learning resources
• Logos and branding
• Themed mats for events, promotions or classrooms
Simply contact us with your idea. We will advise on feasibility, timelines and next steps.
If you can describe it clearly, we can usually create it.

Educational, SEN & Learning Use

How does Magic Minis support learning, not just colouring?

Magic Minis turns colouring into repeatable, purposeful learning.
Because the surface is reusable, calm and screen-free, children can practise skills repeatedly without pressure. This reinforces learning naturally.
Depending on use, Magic Minis supports:
• Cognitive development through repetition and pattern recognition
• Improved focus and longer attention spans
• Fine motor control and early handwriting skills
• Early literacy and numeracy (letters, numbers and shapes)
• Creative thinking, storytelling and imagination
• Emotional regulation and calm transitions
Magic Minis is not a one-off activity. It is a learning surface that adapts as children grow.

Is Magic Minis suitable for SEN and neurodivergent children?

Yes. Magic Minis is widely used in SEN and neurodivergent settings.
Its soft, tactile surface and predictable behaviour support:
• Autism
• ADHD focus and regulation
• Anxiety reduction
• Sensory integration and calming routines
Because mistakes can be rinsed away, children can repeat tasks without fear. This makes Magic Minis especially effective in therapy rooms, classrooms and home learning environments where structure and consistency matter.

Can Magic Minis be used for handwriting practice and structured learning?

Yes. This is one of its strongest uses.
Parents, teachers and SEN practitioners commonly use Unprinted Magic Minis for:
• Letter and number formation
• Phonics and spelling practice
• Counting, maths grids and tracing
• Motor planning and visual tracking
• Reward systems and visual schedules
Activities can be printed directly onto the mat, practised, rinsed and repeated. No worksheets. No paper waste. No pressure.
This makes Magic Minis ideal for progressive learning paths built through repetition

What age is Magic Minis recommended for?

Magic Minis are recommended for children aged 3+, primarily due to pen caps being small parts.
Younger children may enjoy supervised use. As with all colouring activities, adult supervision is advised if children may mouth or chew pens.
Magic Minis grows with the child, from early scribbling to structured learning and creative expression.

Can I use Magic Minis outdoors?

Yes. Magic Minis can be used outdoors on suitable surfaces.
For best results:
• Use on flat, clean surfaces
• Avoid rough or gritty textures
• Store out of direct sunlight when not in use
With basic care, Magic Minis performs just as well outdoors as it does indoors.

Sustainability & Packaging

Is Magic Minis environmentally friendly?

Yes. Sustainability is built into Magic Minis from the very beginning.
Magic Minis is made from 100% recycled polyester fibres, produced using a low-impact non-woven manufacturing process. One reusable mat can replace hundreds of disposable colouring books, pads and worksheets, dramatically reducing paper waste over time.
Our goal is simple: long-life products that reduce short-life waste.

How much water is saved by using Magic Minis?

Each metre of Magic Minis saves approximately 7–8 litres of clean drinking water compared with traditional virgin polyester production.
Water is one of the world’s most precious resources, and reducing its use is a core part of how we design and manufacture our products.

Does Magic Minis help reduce waste?

Yes—significantly.
Magic Minis:
• Replaces disposable colouring books and paper pads
• Reduces paper waste going to landfill
• Gives recycled fibres a meaningful, long-term purpose
• Encourages children to reuse rather than throw away, helping build sustainable habits early
We believe sustainability should be practical and visible, especially for children learning how their choices affect the world.

Can Magic Minis be recycled at the end of its life?

Magic Minis is made from 100% polyester, which many textile recycling schemes can accept.
Where possible, we recommend:
• Donating gently used mats to schools, charities or community groups
• Using local textile recycling facilities for worn-out mats
• Avoiding general waste where dedicated textile recycling is available
We are also actively exploring future take-back and recycling initiatives as part of our ongoing commitment to circular design.

Is your packaging eco-friendly?

Yes. All our packaging is made from 100% recycled and reconstituted cardboard.
We use:
• No harmful plastics
• No single-use films
• No non-recyclable fillers
Our packaging is fully recyclable and responsibly sourced, designed to minimise environmental impact from the moment your order arrives.

Do you use renewable energy or follow a sustainability policy?

Absolutely.
Currently, over 50% of the energy used in our production facilities comes from renewable sources, with this figure increasing year on year. We are actively expanding our renewable infrastructure, with plans to increase this significantly over the next 6–12 months.
Our wider sustainability commitment includes:
• Energy-efficient manufacturing processes
• Continuous reduction of our carbon footprint
• Minimising waste at every stage of production
• Designing long-life products that replace disposables
We believe sustainability is not a box to tick, but a responsibility to improve year after year.

Do you use safe, eco-friendly inks for printing?

Yes. All printing is carried out using premium, water-based inks that are safe for children and kind to the environment.
Our inks are:
• Non-toxic and skin-safe
• Free from VOCs, heavy metals and harmful chemicals
• Designed to produce zero wastewater, with no ink runoff or drainage pollution
We use precision digital printing, which means:
• No excess ink
• No dye waste
• No contamination of water systems
We print only what is needed, when it is needed—protecting both your child’s wellbeing and the planet.

Troubleshooting & Common Issues

My Magic Minis is not drying as quickly as I expected – is something wrong?

Probably not. In most cases, slower drying is related to how the mat was rinsed or the surrounding environment, not a fault.
For best results:
• Use cold water only
• Gently dab the surface with kitchen roll after rinsing
• Magic Minis typically dries within 10–15 minutes
• If you are short on time, a quick blast with a hairdryer will have it ready in seconds
In warmer or more humid rooms, drying may take slightly longer. Once dry, Magic Minis is fully reset and ready to use again.

There is a faint colour shadow left after washing – is this permanent?

No. A faint colour shadow is not permanent.
This can occur if very dark colours (such as black, deep purple or navy) are used and the mat is stored without rinsing for long periods (typically several months).
Important care rule:
Magic Minis should always be rinsed with cold water before storage, especially after heavy colouring or use of dark colours.
If a shadow does appear:
1. Rinse or lightly mist the area with cold water
2. Gently dab with soft kitchen roll
3. Allow the mat to dry fully
No scrubbing and no chemicals are required.

The mat looks streaky or patchy while drying –is it damaged?

No. This is normal.
Temporary streaks may appear while drying. Once fully dry, the surface returns to a uniform appearance and performs exactly as intended.

Some ink has gone over the edge or onto my table– what should I do?

Do not worry. Clean-up is quick and simple.
On smooth surfaces:
• Add a small amount of cold water
• Dab gently with a soft cloth or kitchen roll
• The ink will lift cleanly
No sprays, chemicals or harsh cleaners are needed.

Magic Minis is designed to be forgiving, reusable and easy to care for. Rinsing before storage is the key habit that keeps the mat looking its best for years.

Additional FAQs & Special Uses

How is Magic Minis different from other reusable colouring mats?

Magic Minis is not a plastic wipe-clean mat. It is a specialist, professionally manufactured recycled fabric, designed for long-term, everyday use.
Compared with most reusable colouring mats, Magic Minis offers:
• A premium textile surface (Magic Matte™ fabric) rather than thin plastic
• Independently tested safety standards
• Meaningful guarantees (30-Day Happiness + 10-Year Reusability)
• True versatility across homes, classrooms, cafés, SEN and therapy settings
• Effortless reuse—colour rinses away with cold water and dries quickly

Can Magic Minis be trimmed or cut smaller?

Yes. Magic Minis can be safely trimmed or cut to suit individual needs.
Many families, educators, and SEN professionals choose to cut Magic Minis:
• For special educational needs where a smaller working area reduces overwhelm
• To create custom classroom resources
• For travel-sized or lap-based use
• To isolate specific learning zones or activities
The polyester microfibre fabric does not fray easily when cut and continues to perform as intended when cleaned and reused.
We recommend using sharp scissors and cutting on a flat surface for a neat edge (ensure Adult supervision)

Can Magic Minis be used by left-handed children?

Yes. Magic Minis™ work equally well for left-handed and right-handed children.
Because the surface is fabric-based rather than glossy paper, ink behaviour and hand movement feel consistent from either direction.

In short, there is currently nothing else like it in terms of material quality, safety and lifespan.
